In 2018, the City of Thousand Oaks, CA and surrounding communities suffered compound traumatic events within the span of two weeks: the Borderline shootings that took the lives of eighteen people and three wildfires that caused massive disruption and dislocation.

Research shows that it takes a community between 18 and 36 months for a community to heal from a single major trauma, and Thousand Oaks endured four. Dr. Mike Hutchings, Director of Education for Global Awakening and President of God Heals PTSD Foundation, and Pastor Tom Stephen of Monte Vista Presbyterian Church in Thousand Oaks, engage with each other and a live audience to share stories and lessons learned about how Thousand Oaks and other communities and individuals have walked through the healing journey.
